Die Oakland Athletics, auch bekannt unter der Abkürzung The A’s sind ein Major League Baseball Team aus dem kalifornischen Oakland. Die Oakland Athletics wurden im Jahr 1893 in Indianapolis gegründet. 1901 zogen sie dann nach Philadelphia wo sie bis 1954 als Philadelphia Athletics spielten. Von 1955 bis 1967 spielten die Athletics in Kansas City bis sie schließlich 1968 nach Oakland umgezogen sind. Bis heute gewannen sie insgesamt 15 American League und 9 World Series Titel. Der letzte World Series Gewinn war im Jahr 1989.
